Nisha Kim, a partner and the Head of Corporate Partnerships at Rush Cycle, has seamlessly blended her personal experiences with altruism, leading the charge for a fundraising initiative in support of the Montreal Heart Institute. In her view, organizing such an event aligns perfectly with Rush Cycle’s core mission, extending beyond being a mere spin studio to embody a unique blend of fitness, community, and an active lifestyle for its widespread membership across the Island of Montreal.
Rush Cycle has positioned itself as more than just a fitness studio. They have become a community that advocates for a healthy and active lifestyle. This ethos strongly resonates with the Montreal Heart Institute’s dedication to preventive efforts and the promotion of healthy habits.
As for Nisha Kim, she’s the one who contacted the Foundation to find out how she could support the cause.
“It is said that a kind gesture can reach a wound that only compassion can heal. I’m here today to say that this is absolutely true. We all have ways of giving back, whether it’s with something tangible or not.”
The driving force behind Nisha Kim’s altruistic efforts is rooted in her personal experience of her child’s battle with Kawasaki disease. Though her child has overcome the illness, the memories of those challenging days linger, leaving an indelible mark on Nisha’s heart. It’s these moments that have fueled her commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of families who, like hers, have faced adversity.
“To all the families who have lost a child, who are going through a hard time, or who I hope are rejoicing at the miracle of a healthy and happy child, I know what you’re going through. My heart beats with yours and I am by your side. In fact, I’ve made self-giving a lifelong goal.”
In recognition of Heart Month, Rush Cycle, guided by the team’s compassionate leadership, will raise funds throughout February. Both in-studio and online through the Active-toi avec coeur platform, the initiative aims to bring together the community in support of a greater cause – generosity.
“Thank you for being part of this movement and for working together for a greater cause: generosity.”
