From October until December 31, 2021, every donation to The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation will be matched by Manulife, at a rate of two dollars for every dollar you donate*.

Dr. Denis Roy receives the 2021 Canadian Cardiovascular Society Research Achievement Award

Dr. Denis-Roy, a cardiologist emeritus at the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI), received the Canadian Cardiovascular Society (CCS) Research Achievement Award yesterday at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress 2021. This prestigious award is given annually to an established investigator working on an aspect of cardiovascular research in Canada.

Opening the fundraising season, the Grand Bal des Vins-Cœurs was held virtually on Thursday, September 9, with generous philanthropists from the Montreal business community. The 21st edition of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation’s signature event raised $1,002,040 for cardiovascular health.

Health Canada approval of low-dose colchicine for cardiovascular disease based on the COLCOT study

People with coronary disease now have a new treatment option to reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. Health Canada has issued a Notice of Compliance for the prescription drug MYINFLA™ (colchicine 0.5 mg tablets) based on the results of the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI)’s COLCOT clinical trial.

$123,000 raised for the 35th edition of the Kanawaki Golf Tournament

The 35th edition of the Kanawaki Golf Tournament was held on August 2. This gathering, the Foundation’s first in over a year, was a great success. The Foundation is proud to announce that a total of $123,000 was raised thanks to this event, the highest amount in at least 10 years!
