Maude Chayer, a Foundation employee who is running for the cause
Interview with Maude Chayer, employee of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation
Home > Blog > Maude Chayer, a Foundation employee who is running for the causeMaude Chayer has always been passionate about sports. While being physically active helps her feel good both physically and mentally, it’s her drive to succeed that pushes her to excel.
Before working for the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, Maude had never been personally affected by heart disease. But at the Foundation, she quickly realized that a person didn’t need to have health problems to care about the cause.
“When I learned that 9 out of 10 Canadians over the age of 20 have at least one risk factor for cardiovascular disease, I was astounded. I want to help people understand that health is so precious and that no one is immune.”
Maude has been with the Foundation for a year now. That’s why running for sensitive hearts was a no-brainer. After having taken part in the Marathon Beneva, she is ready to tackle the Bromont Ultra challenge while raising money for the MHI.
“I’m running to raise funds to improve the quality of life of patients and support research initiatives. A heart is what counts the most, it watches over us and allows us to achieve great things.”
