September 7, 2018

The Grand Bal des Vins-Coeurs, the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation’s flagship event, took place last night at Windsor Station’s Salle des pas perdus. Approximately 800 generous philanthropists got together for the 18th edition, which raised $1,735,000.

Thanks to the generosity of guests, partners, and donors, the Foundation will be able to support excellence at the Montreal Heart Institute, affiliated with Université de Montréal. This internationally-renowned institution for the benefit of all Quebecers will be able to continue to invest in several research projects along with highly-specialized care, education, technological innovation, prevention, and professional training.

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation and the Chair of its Board of Directors, Lino A. Saputo Jr., took advantage of this annual get-together to pay tribute to Jean-Pierre Léger. This visionary businessman and philanthropist expanded St-Hubert Group for a quarter of a century. The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation wanted to recognize his support and the impact he has had on his community by awarding with its Medal of Honour for his generosity, involvement, and dedication. Thanks to a donation from the Fondation de Claire et Jean-Pierre Léger dedicated to the purchase of state-of-the-art PET/MRI technology, the Institute’s teams will be able to detect heart disease more quickly and at an earlier stage.

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation would like to thank the faithful partners of the Grand Bal des Vins-Coeurs, SAQ and Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, as well as National Bank and Pomerleau, and every other partner and donor.
