The amount of $112,000 was raised on November 21st, during the 6th edition of HeartBeat, a fundraising event organized by the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation’s Emerging Leaders Committee at 1909 Taverne moderne – MTL. This festive, rallying and convivial networking evening brought together nearly 400 young professionals from all walks of life. All proceeds from the event are going to the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation to help patients with cardiovascular disease.

Young Philanthropists United for the Cause

Cardiovascular disease affects all age groups, including young adults. More and more young people are becoming aware of this reality and want to get involved to make a difference. In Canada, nearly 100,000 people have congenital heart disease. At the Montreal Heart Institute, the number of patients followed for these diseases has increased sevenfold in 15 years, reaching nearly 4,000 people. HeartBeat is an opportunity to raise awareness for a cause and a foundation that make a huge difference for patients of all ages.

Dedicated Leaders to Mobilize an Entire Generation

The Committee reports to the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation and is composed of some twenty young leaders who wish to raise awareness and sensitize their community to the issues of cardiovascular disease. Co-chaired by Marie-Claude Bergeron and Jean-Philippe Joyal, the Committee is composed of Andréanne Bergeron, Janie Brunelle, Marc-André Dion, Marie-Hélène Dorion, Ève Dubuc, Adriana Embiricos, Sébastien Fontaine, Patrick Fouquette, Catherine Fournier, Arthur Gignac, Rayess Haider, Justine Hamelin, Pierre-Marc Hamelin, Jasmin Labrie, Marie-Laurence Migneault, Olivier Rénald, Nicolas Rousseau-Saine, Kimberly Sande, Jonathan Thériault and Guillaume Twigg.

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation would like to thank its valued partners who have contributed to the success of HeartBeat: Sports Rousseau Hockey, Développement Montarville inc., PwC, Grindstone Capital Assurancia Guertin & Cie, Fasken, Pomerleau Inc., Hamelin & VRKIC Avocats, Déco Maison Flor Déco, the Air Canada Foundation and 1909 Taverne moderne.
