Céline Auger, Dominique Morency-Laflamme, and Isabelle Gauthier named recipients of the 2023 Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence in Cardiovascular Care

The Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence is a prestigious honour awarded to members of the Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) who excel in their work while improving their profession and the practice of cardiovascular care. The winners of the 4^th edition are: Céline Auger, nurse specializing in monitoring electrophysiology procedures; Dominique Morency-Laflamme, clinical advisor, emergency department; and Isabelle Gauthier, spiritual care advisor.

Nursing Category: Céline Auger — nurse specializing in monitoring electrophysiology procedures

Céline Auger is unwavering in her dedication to driving innovation in care at the MHI. In addition to training staff, she also creates management protocols for electrophysiology procedures. During the pandemic, she spearheaded the creation of an accessibility program intended to remotely monitor patients with cardiac devices. This program now serves as a model across Canada and was recognized at the Prix d’excellence du réseau de la santé et des services sociaux in May 2023.

Nursing Category: Dominique Morency-Laflamme — clinical advisor, emergency department

Dominique Morency-Laflamme has been working in the emergency department for 17 years. She was also closely involved with its move in 2023. In fact, many of her peers have praised her for her standards of excellence. And her devotion to the emergency department goes beyond her day-to-day tasks: she stands out for her commitment to supporting colleagues and for her myriad initiatives – including simulation programs often carried out on weeknights or weekends. She is someone who truly gives from the heart.
