The Montreal Heart Institute announces that the BRAIN-AF study has received a $1.4 million grant from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. Seeking to better understand the effects of cardiovascular disease on the cognitive decline of the brain, the study will be able to recruit participants remotely thanks to this funding.

The Montreal Heart Institute Foundation, in collaboration with IGA, announces that the $2 Does the Heart Good fundraiser concluded with a total of $281,205 raised. This campaign was held as part of Heart Month, from February 4 to 24, in nearly 300 IGA supermarkets in Quebec and New Brunswick.

When the pandemic forced gyms to close, it caused some disruption to the plans that had been developed for patients by the team at the Montreal Heart Institute’s Diabetes Prevention Clinic sponsored by Sun Life. As people with type 2 diabetes are more vulnerable when it comes to COVID-19, it was important they remained safe at home.
