Supporting Excellence in Care though Training and Innovation
Marc Y. Bruneau was a member of the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation’s board of directors from 1985 to 2022. His bequest – and donations made in his memory – led to the creation of the Marc Y. Bruneau Fund.
Mr. Bruneau’s son, Marc G. Bruneau, shares his father’s principles and established the Marc Y. Bruneau Fund following his father’s death. It was created to financially support a resident or physician in the MHI’s specialized medicine department who wants to undertake additional training to hone their knowledge, develop innovative projects, and implement new advanced care techniques.
Thanks to the Marc Y. Bruneau Fund, candidates will be able to enhance their skills through projects and training programs that meet the specific needs of the specialized medicine department as well as the MHI in terms of its strategic priorities. The projects and training programs will be required to focus on improving patient safety, optimizing their health, and helping them maintain their independence.
The selection committee is composed of Nesrine Ragguem, CEO of the MHI; Dr. Peter Guerra, head of the specialized medicine department; Dr. Guy B. Pelletier; Dr. Normand Racine; a representative of the MHI Foundation; and Marc G. Bruneau. Once the nomination process concludes, the committee will meet to select the recipient of the grant, which will be awarded for the first time next summer.
