Thanks to a $2 million donation from Sojecci, this new Research Chair will provide a better understanding of the complex issue of sudden death in children and young adults born with congenital heart disease, which is a heart defect present at birth, so that innovative approaches can be developed for the management and care of these patients.

COLCORONA trial in patients with COVID-19 passes futility test in interim analysis

Montreal Heart Institute announced that the COLCORONA clinical trial will continue to recruit non-hospitalized adult patients with COVID-19 as recommended by the independent data monitoring committee (DMC), following a futility analysis.

Contactless COVID-19 clinical study starts in Ontario

The Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) Research Center has extended its COLCORONA COVID-19 clinical trial to a third Canadian province being Ontario. As of today, Ontarians who are tested positive for COVID-19, but are not hospitalized, may be eligible for this innovative, contactless at-home study.

The Montreal Heart Institute (MHI) Research Center today announced a strategic partnership with the Vancouver Infectious Diseases Centre (VIDC) in Vancouver, British Colombia, for its COVID-19 clinical study to evaluate whether colchicine will have an effect on preventing the phenomenon of major inflammatory storm present in adults suffering from severe complications related to COVID-19.
