The MHI and its Foundation are pleased to issue a call for projects for the Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence for a second year in a row. The goal is to promote excellence and efficiency in cardiovascular care while supporting innovative initiatives led by nurses and health care professionals.
The awards were created by Dr. Denis Roy, a cardiologist and electrophysiologist at the MHI. In 2018, he received the Persillier-Lachapelle Award. He used the $17,000 scholarship that came with it to create the Fund for Excellence in Nursing, which now makes the Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence in Cardiovascular Care possible.
The first awards ceremony took place at the Montreal Heart Institute in the spring of 2020. The Foundation is able to bestow these awards every year thanks to the generous support of donors.
