Call for team projects for the Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence

The call for team projects for the Dr. Denis Roy Awards for Excellence is back for its second edition. The goal is to support innovative team-led initiatives and promote excellence and efficiency in cardiovascular care.

The selected project will receive $15,000 in funding for a one-year deployment. 

  • Submission deadline: August 21, 2026
  • Award ceremony date: October 20, 2026

Terms and conditions for participation

The following conditions apply:

  • The projects must be submitted by a team.
  • The project must be led by a nurse, a health care professional, or a team at the MHI.
  • The project must be submitted via the online form and include a detailed description of the project, its goal, its methodology, a breakdown of the budget ($15,000 for one year), as well as the expected performance indicators.

Priority themes

You project must be aligned with one or more priorities in terms of innovation while taking into account the current challenges the MHI faces. Here are a few examples of themes to guide you in the submission process:

  • Improving clinical practices in cardiovascular medicine.  
  • Integrating technology within clinical activities in order to reduce the administrative burden.
  • Developing training activities or educational tools for clients and health care teams. 
  • Implementing cutting-edge practices to support and integrate the next generation of health care experts. 
  • Optimizing the efficiency of the care journey and providing faster access to care.
  • Prioritizing the care and services offered in terms of their relevance, quality, and added value for the MHI’s clientele. 
  • Improving and promoting a work environment that is healthy, safe, and mobilizing while fostering the well-being, dedication, and attendance of staff.

Evaluation criteria

The submission must include the following elements:

  • A detailed description of the project’s innovative potential and novelty 
  • The evaluation methods and outcomes 
  • A list of measurable performance indicators
  • Justification of the project’s feasibility in a clinical context with a one-year budget of $15,000 
  • A detailed deployment budget
