Dr. David Busseuil: towards personalized medicine with the Biobank

When he first landed in Montreal in 2005 to complete his post-doctorate with Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif at the Montreal Heart Institute, Dr. David Busseuil was still unaware that he would never return to Dijon. Several years later, he is now director of an impressive bank of biological samples and data used for clinical research, the André and France Desmarais Hospital Cohort at the Montreal Heart Institute, also known as the Biobank.

July 2020 saw the passing of Dr. Martial G. Bourassa. Officer of the Order of Canada and Knight of the National Order of Quebec, Dr. Bourassa is recognized as a cardiology pioneer in Quebec. To honour his legacy in the field of cardiology, the Montreal Heart Institute Foundation established the Martial G. Bourassa Cardiovascular Medicine Innovation Fund.

Towards a better understanding of congenital heart disease

Last August, the Foundation announced the creation of the André Chagnon Research Chair in Congenital Heart Disease. Thanks to a $2 million donation from Sojecci, this new research chair will help develop innovative approaches to the care and treatment of patients with congenital heart disease, a heart defect present from birth.

Diabetes prevention clinic sponsored by Sun Life: fighting type 2 diabetes, one patient at a time
